This stole is worked entirely in the round. The CO is a along the center, and the shaping is achieved by working 8 increases every other round, one on each of the 4 angles.
Foliana begins with an easy lace motif of small, repeating leaves that travel across the body: some follow a direct path toward the edge, while others curve and gather, forming soft arches that echo one another. This interplay produces subtle oval shapes that becomes fully visible only after blocking.
The initial stitch gradually transitions into a richly textured border of larger, more intricate foliage that frames the stole. A decorative bind off adds a fine line of sparkle and drape.
Once blocked, Foliana opens into a fabric that is surprisingly light and elegant.
